This is from the first article and I agree with it, I agree and think that everyone should have a higher education after high school because it could really help them out in the long run and can open many job opportunities.
"Create a $2.5 billion "access and completion incentive program" ($500 million a year for five years) that would give grants to states and other entities to pay for programs designed to increasing students' success in college, with a particular focus on students from low-income and other disadvantaged backgrounds." This is a bullet point from another article that you (ms. Sackstein) put up, (the third one.) And I also agree and disagree to this, because I feel that Doing this could possibly help push more kids to go to college but because of the economic situation, I do not think that spending money like it grows on tree's isn't the best idea. It will just put is further in debt and the tax will increase therefore just making middle class and wealthier families pay more and the poor, poorer.
Lastly i found a web page that had Obama and Bidens educational plans. (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/) There are three bullet points, the first is the no child left behind program. I agree with this program because continuously holding kids back shows them that in a way you are giving up on them and then they will try less. If you push them and encourage them, then everyone will get there and succeed. Second bullet is to invest in early childhood, or the "zero to five plan" which will help support young children and their parents, including universal preschool. I don't really have an opinion on this bullet because it wasn't very specific and I'm not sure if I fully know what they plan to do. And the last bullet point is to make college affordable to all children. There would be a tax credit worth $4,000 dollars and it would cut 2/3 college tuition. Making it almost free for students. I think that the idea is good, and making college affordable to more people is great but, it all goes back to the economic crisis and paying for it in taxes. Therefore I'm not sure if it will work the way that they plan it too.
I posted a comment on Obama's education plan and i think i read one of the articles you posted. I think that his education plan will be good and i hope that it works because of all the good that comes out of it. For the teachers as well as the students. The education plan needed to be reformed.
I read the first article that was posted about Obama's education plan. He says that it should be required that everybody must continue their education farther than just high school (Meaning some kind of college.) I agree with him because it is important that the people in this country are well educated. I think it is important because the people from our country will begin to have better educations and therefore, better careers. There will be more scientists and mathematicians, and stuff like that, so this could possibly lead to better science and technology and the U.S. could become the leader.
I agree with what Rosemary said. I also think that education is a key factor in the success of the United States.
I think that even though schools not really a kids favorite thing in the world i think its important. I also agree with all of those who post saying that they ope this plan works out and that they think this project is on the right track.
