News strictly provide information in a direct manner, and are organized in the form of the inverted pyramid. News features are not as prompt, and exist in order to inform the reader, as well as to entertain. Features also tend to be descriptive.

News is an article that has something to do with an event that just happened. It is written in the form of the inverted pyramid. Going from most important to least important. It also has a due date and cannot be run at any particular time. It must be run right after it happened. A news feature is an article on any topic. A feature article can be run at anytime and does not have a “dead line”.

A delayed lead is when a news feature begins with one or more paragraphs that describe the theme or the setting of the story. The nut graf (paragraph) or in feature news the lead, tells readers and listeners what the main facts of the feature are. It differs from a news lead because it gives the facts but in a more descriptive manner.

NEWS: focus' on immediate events reports on crimes, gvernment actionc, etc. they provide facts, use the inverted pyramid and direct leads. the inverted pyramid means that the most timportant things are at the top and the least important at the end. the facts reduce toward the end and the lead ususally has the 5w's and H.

FEATURE NEWS: written to enform and enbtertain they are not as urgent as hard news stories, but they contain facts as well.

DELAYED LEAD: the first two paragraphs in a feature story that describes the scene or theme of the story.

NUT GRAF: the actual lead in a feature story it follows the delayes lead. this tells the readers what the main facts of the the feature is.

A feature article is an article that can be on any topic, and can be run at any time. It informs the public on topics that they are interested and topics that entertain them as well.

A delayed lead is when a feature article begins with one or more paragraphs to describe the theme or setting of the story.

Nut graf tells the readers what the main facts of the feature are. This differs from a news lead because it gives the facts in a more descriptive manner.

NEWS: Focuses on a timely event, that is orginized in a form such as that of the inverted pyramid, meaning the most important information comes first. News articles must run right after the event happened [timely].

FEATURE ARTICLES: Feature articles are not timely, and do not have a "dead line." They can be written based on a news article, and are written for entertainment and informative purposes.

DELAYED LEAD: The first tone of two paragraphs that describes the theme/ central focus/angle of the story.

NUT GRAF: The actual lead, which follows the 'Delayed Lead.' Tells the reader the main facts of the feature article.

A news article is all facts and no opinion unless its in a quote. There is a format that you must follow called the inverted pyramid. The information goes from the most important to the least. News articles have topics that are important and that will affect a majority of a community.

A feature article can be on a topic of your choice and can be run at any time. There is no inverted pyramid.

A delayed lead is when the article starts off with one or more paragraphs that describe the setting or a particular theme or setting of where the story takes place.

A nut graf is the lead of a feature story that is the follow up to a delayed lead. This introduces what the article is going to be about.

News is events that have occured, that in some way can affect us as citizens of America. News has to be given in a very specific way. Its just like following the rules.
A delayed lead is also news, but this news' theme gets described in the first paragraph, instead of just giving the main facts in the begining of the article. You just do it in a descriptive kind of way.

news: always a timely event, that is orginized in a inverted pyramid, it goes after the event happens. no opinion always straight facts.

feature articles: more for entertainment purposes and there is no time limit for when it should be published.

delayed leads: describes the theme and big idea for the article. focus or angle of the story.

nut graf: tells what the main facts of the feature are.

A news article is an article that is written in a form of the inverted pyramid. It contains the most important facts in the beginning.

News features provide facts, but they are also written to entertain readers. Unlike news, they don't have to be about events that are happening now.

A delayed lead is when a feature story begins by describing the setting. It makes the reader want to read more.

The nut graf tells the reader what the story is about. It follows after the delayed lead. It appears in the third or fourth paragraph. It differs from a news lead because the lead in a news story would be in the first sentence.

News is different from feature news because, regular, hard news is written in a timely manner and it reports on news about local, or national things. Feature news can pretty much be about anything. It is a lot more descriptive than news writing as well.

A delyaed lead is when the FEATURE ARTICLE starts out with about two paragraphs and it explains some background information and stuff that will get readers attention and the nut graf is given after that and it it the paragraph where the main facts from the article are presented.

There are two common forms of news forms(Hard News and Feature News).
Hard news are mainly focused on immediate events, crime, accidents or news on the govenment. Feature news, or soft news, is not as immediate as hard news. Feature provides facts, describes the story and adds more entertainment to the article.

News is informational and has to do of some importance happening at that time. Ex. A robbery and a death.

News Feature are a little different. Feature is timely meaning you can put it in the paper or place anytime. Ex. Gang issue.

They are distinctive but have very similar traits.
